Working Group is a research-based and social practice collaborative led by artists Nancy Nowacek and Allison Rowe to explore contemporary political issues through social forms.
Nowacek's work has been supported by organizations such as Eyebeam, Recess, and Pioneer Works. She co-founded the NEA-funded arts collective and triennial Works on Water and recently served as Education-Artist-In-Residence at the Walker Art Center.
Rowe's pedagogical and artistic projects have been facilitated by organizations such as the Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery, the Dovercourt Boys & Girls Club, and Galerie La Centrale. She recently completed an arts-based and ethnographic SSHRC-funded study of institutionally-supported social practice artwork.
Nowacek and Rowe hold MFAs in Social Practice from California College of the Arts.
